If you have adopted a child or plan to adopt, should you share their adoption story and birth background with them? When is the best time to reveal this information and what is the most effective way to discuss it?

Early disclosure of adoption is important as it impacts the child’s confidence, esteem, and bonding with their adoptive parents.
It is mandatory for all prospective adopters (including those wishing to adopt a biological child or stepchild) to attend a Pre–Adoption Briefing and Disclosure Briefing conducted by Authorised Adoption Agencies (AAAs) accredited by MSF.
